About the Company

Resmonics AG is a spin-off from ETH Zurich founded in 2020. We are a pioneer in the field of acoustic artificial intelligence for lung diseases with the mission to stop lung diseases from progressing and spreading. Our first product, ResGuard Med™, is a CE-certified medical software that enables clinical-grade respiratory symptom monitoring via a smartphone’s built-in microphone. One year after market launch, the product is being used internationally by thousands of users in Switzerland, Finland, China, and New Zealand. Our second product is the novel revolutionary device “Quorum” - the world's first respiratory infection warning system for indoor spaces. For the very first time, hospitals and companies can now safeguard their invaluable workforce from respiratory infections right within the workplace, with precision and immediacy. We are expanding our team to bring Quorum to market.

About the Role

As a Signal Processing and Data Science Intern at Resmonics, you will be mainly responsible for developing and enhancing novel signal processing algorithms and deep learning models and tailoring them towards on-device processes. You will work closely with our Tech Team, and we expect you to:

Solve complex technical problems with minimum supervision
Write clear documentation and maintainable and reusable code
Leverage test-driven principles to develop high-quality features and software
Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and other technical issues
Review and optimize our current product’s technical design, code, and documentation

Requirements

Following skills are a plus to be considered for the internship:

- Experience in the field of AI, Machine Learning, or Deep
- LearningExperience in popular ML frameworks, especially TensorFlow, Sklearn, PyTorch, and Keras
- Experience in Acoustic Signal Processing (Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem, ...)
- Experience in the field of software engineering and development
- Knowledge in building SDKs for mobile applications, for Android OS and other mobile OS is a big plus
- Fluency in English or German
- Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, bioengineering, mathematics, or any other relevant technical field
- Entrepreneurial and customer-oriented mindset
